The Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance
invites only the most beautiful and rare automobiles to be displayed
on the famed eighteenth fairway. This year the Futurliner was
honored to be invited and displayed with the concept cars of GM and
Joe Bortz. Probably never again will this collection of rare concept
cars gather together for a display such as this. This honor was not
lost on the Futurliner volunteer team as they traveled to California
to prepare and display this remarkable piece of GM history in
conjunction with GM's centennial. |

GM themed the Pebble Beach display "Motorama", a throwback to the
fifty's and sixty's when GM sold the sizzle with dream cars of the
future. The Futurliner served as the backdrop for an unprecedented
display of rare GM vehicles. |

The fields were alive with the clicking of cameras as thousands of
visitors and participants marveled at the awesome presence the
Futurliner commanded on the show field. We had a line of people all
day long who were eager to go up in the cab of the Futurliner. |
Celebrities such as Jay Leno visited the Futurliner. This photo was
taken early in the morning and he came back later in the afternoon
as well. Note that he is carrying a hub cap under his arm as if he
were attending a swap meet. You learn to get the parts where you can
find them. |

Pictured is our Canadian friend who became an instant millionaire a
couple of years ago when he sold his Futurliner at the Barrett
Jackson auction in Scottsdale, AZ. He stopped by to say hello and
chat a while. |
Bob Valdez also stopped by. He is the gentleman who customized a
Futurliner some years ago that was spotted by Don Mayton who became
intrigued by it. Don subsequently found our Futurliner which we
restored. |
