The Classic Car Club of America Museum Concours, "The Grand
Experience" was held at the Gilmore Museum. The show featured “50
Years of GM - 1908 - 1958 and all CCCA Full ClassicsR. The
Futurliner was honored to take part in this prestigious show.
The weekend was on the cool side but the classics were
outstanding and more than made up for the weather.
The Futurliner was visited by Tony Gagliardi who drove
Futurliner #1 during the 1953, 1954 and 1955 seasons. Tony's other
duties included exhibiting the 1902 curved dash Olds to the crowds.
He remembered a problems with the air brake system on the
Futurliners. When driving downhill the air brake system would drop
in pressure because the engine was coasting and the air brakes would
not work very well. This resulted in quite a few scary moments and a
lot of prayers being said.
Setting in the seat of the Futurliner the memory of those
exciting seasons with the Parade of Process came flooding back.
