Today is a benchmark day that these men have all been waiting for.
It's the day the Futurliner moves under it's own power and goes for
a test drive.
With Del Carpenter at the wheel the Futurliner is pulled out of the
work bay. The engine and driver's access doors were left off for
easy access.
Wally Snow poses by the Futurliner in what could have been a 1954
photograph.
Anxious to roll, this fellow gets a driver's point of view.
Stan bowers makes sure the rear doors are closed properly.
Another side view before rolling out on the highway.
The Futurliner begins rolling down the driveway to the street.
Once in the street, the men position a lead car with a camera man
rolling video and a chase car to pick up parts that fall off.
Neither were disappointed. Follow this link
to see what happens next.
