This is the back side of one of the displays. The neat thing about the
Futurliner was the large doors on both sides of the vehicle. This
allowed for all kinds of configurations and access points for
maintenance.
This was General
Motors contribution to try and stimulate and spark interest in
the youth of the day to involve themselves in ingenuity and
creativity. Beginning in 1930 the Fisher Body Craftsman Guild
sponsored a model stagecoach and automobile building
competition. The exhibit told the story of the Guild -- its
purposes, meanings and nation-wide growth. The exhibit displayed
sample models of the handiwork and skill of some of the prize
winning Craftsman Guild members.
This is Oldsmobile's Old Scout. The vehicle gained
its notoriety by traveling from coast to coast.
Crowds gather to hear the story of Old Scout and
hear about GM's commitment to building durable vehicles.
The Paraders that unloaded the equipment and erected
the tent where the same who lectured the crowds about the
different displays.
