The display trailer for the Futurliner is being built at Del
Carpenter's shop and is nearing completion.
The trailer sports chrome fenders over dual wheels (same dual wheel
setup on the front of the Futurliner) and a chrome exhaust stack.
This is the control panel that monitors the engine as it turns the
big generator. The purpose of this display is to show people some of
the Futurliner components, such as the engine, from wheel assemble
and the generator for providing electricity for the show lights at
night.
This picture gives you some idea of how large the generator is that
provides the 110 volt AC current.
This 1957 Buick Special was donated to the cause and the crew has
decided to clean it up and sell it to help pay for some of their
outstanding debt. Mechanically, it's a great car. It's a Special
with a stick -- which are very rare. The men say is drives out very
well.
The interior and exterior need a little attention but nothing major.
We'll be posting the selling price on this pretty soon.
